Accountant & Founder MA CA

Neil trained as an accountant with Ernst & Young before spending 15 years working in banking in London, leaving in late 2019 to find more meaningful work. During COVID lockdown he started volunteering to support charities and social enterprises get their finances in order. He quickly found there was a huge need for the right support, and so founded Friendly Finances along with his wife Rebecca.

Neil lives on a boat with his wife Rebecca, and daughters Amelia and Lorelei. His hobbies include cooking, free diving and playing the guitar badly, although most of his non work time is spent covered in oil and boat parts.

Chartered Certified Accountant BA(Hons) FCCA

Having worked in manufacturing industry, then retail for 10 years, Mark decided to qualify as an Accountant. Working in small Accountancy Practices, he qualified in 2000 and has worked with small businesses since then.

He joined Friendly Finances in 2022 and also does voluntary work as a Blood Bike Volunteer.

Mark moved to the west coast of Ireland a few years ago with his wife and small collection of motorbikes. He tries to enjoy the occasional sunny day touring around the area, but usually gets wet! As they say, Ireland is green for a reason!

Director & Chartered Accountant CA

Kim has 8 years experience within the Big 4 firms and 5 years working in the Oil and Gas Industry. She joined Friendly Finances in 2021 looking to make a difference and assist companies who want to make a positive social impact.

Kim lives in Glasgow and loves going for walks along the canal and the River Kelvin. When she is not spending time with her nephew, her next favourite thing to do is curl up with a book.

Chartered Accountant BSc FCA

Nick trained with KPMG before spending nearly 20 years working in product control roles in several investment banks. Nick joined Friendly Finances at the start of 2023 and also volunteers at the local food hub, helping supply the borough's food banks.

Nick lives in Barnet, North London, with his wife, 2 tortoises and a cat. Outside of work, he can be found gardening, at the gym or attempting to work on his cars.

Co-Founder & MBA

Rebecca worked in International HR for multinational corporations, at Microsoft and as a consultant for Willis Towers Watson. She is not an accountant but has an MBA, and is the one who keeps the team friendly and stops them from talking too much accounting jargon.

Rebecca is passionate about development, and in her 20’s served with the US Peace Corp in Morocco supporting women carpet weavers. Outside of work she home schools Neil and Rebecca’s two daughters, and loves running, yoga and Diet Coke

Chartered Accountant MA FCA

Michael trained with PricewaterhouseCoopers before spending over 15 years working in various finance roles in investment banks. Joined Friendly Finances in 2022 and also works for Age UK, supporting older people get the best out of life.

Michael lives in Brighton with his wife and young sons. This affords a great deal of time outdoors playing football, cricket, table tennis and even the occasional Park Run.

Bookkeeper AAT

Ashley trained in a small chartered accountants in Glasgow and has spent the last 28 years in a variety of finance roles. She joined Friendly Finances in June 2022.

Ashley lives in Tobermory, Isle of Mull with her family and mental dog. They keep her busy with walks and crafts. When it is warm and sunny (rare) this is when she is happiest.
